And now the world’s most famous payment gateway, PayPal can also be used to make payments when buying bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. In April 2021, PayPal allowed the purchase of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum or Ripple and other assets in the wallet.

However, if you want to use PayPal for cryptocurrency payments, you will need to sign up on a crypto exchange portal, enable your wallet, and check out the lengthy process. While it wasn’t the most complicated process, it certainly wasn’t as easy as it is on the PayPal platform.

Steps Buy Bitcoin Using Paypal:

Step 1: First of login or create your PayPal account

If you already have a PayPal account, all you have to do is log in with your account details. After logging in, navigate to the “Crypto” section on the dashboard. If you don’t have a PayPal account, create a new one and follow-through.

Step 2: Choose Bitcoin from the Cryptocurrency list

Once you enter the Cryptocurrencies section of PayPal, you will see a list of other cryptocurrencies, along with Bitcoin. But that’s where we’re talking about bitcoin, so choose it.

Step 3: Check the Prices & Analyze

Once you enter this section you can check various details of bitcoin like current trading prices, history ranging from 24 hours to 1 week and 1 month. You can use these details to analyze bitcoin buying patterns and true price.

Step 4: Assign your Budget & Buy

After selecting bitcoin you can see a price history ranging from 24 hours to 1 week and 1 month. When analyzing the growth pattern you can click on buy and you will see the default $20, $50, $100, or $500 worth of bitcoin options. If this amount is not according to your budget then you can enter a custom amount.

Step 5: Select Payment Methods

Finally, once, you have selected the cryptocurrency and assigned the correct amount you can just click on buy and make the final payment which includes fees or charges. Here, you can choose the PayPal method to make the payment.

If you already have a PayPal account, you can proceed with your existing payment method. If you are buying bitcoin with a new account, keep in mind that your payment method can be either a debit card or a bank account. Currently, PayPal does not accept credit card or crypto transactions.

Once a payment method has been selected, you will see a review page with the exchange rate, total cost of your purchase, transaction fee, etc. After reviewing your purchase, you are ready to make your bitcoin purchase by clicking “Buy Now”.

According to the latest update by PayPal, you can only hold cryptocurrencies purchased on PayPal on the platform. PayPal does not allow users to withdraw assets to another crypto wallet. The bitcoins you buy cannot be transferred to another platform.
